YEAR 7 DISCO – Friday 24th September: details and application form on pdf file below
The Parents & Friends have organised a School Disco for the Year 7 and 8 students and their friends to be held on Friday 24th September 2010 from 7:30pm to 9.30pm in the WGSG School Hall.
Admission will be by ticket only - priced at £3.50.
The Ticket Application Form is at the bottom of this page as a pdf file.
Please return applications with payment (£3.50 per ticket) in an envelope marked with the Student’s Name and Form and ‘PFA YEAR 7 & 8 DISCO’ to Reception.
These events have proved very poplar so tickets will be allocated on first come first served basis.
There will be refreshments for sale. The disco will be supervised by members of the PFA and all profits from the event will be used to fund School projects and improvements.
A.G.M. – Tuesday 12th October 2010
The PFA has pleasure in inviting all parents and friends to the Annual General Meeting to be held on Tuesday, 12th October at 7.30 pm in the Learning Centre. This is a chance to meet other parents, enjoy a glass of wine and see what the PFA has achieved over the past year. It is also an opportunity for you to discuss ways in which you might be able to support the PFA – whether as an occasional helper at events, to provide practical help on projects, or serve as a Committee Member which involves around 6 meetings a year. Alternatively, you may have contacts that we can approach for support or donations. It is very important that new members join each year as they bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the committee as well as practical help with our various activities.
The School greatly values and appreciates the support it receives from the PFA. In addition to raising funds for the School, it arranges a variety of events for all to enjoy. It also undertakes projects to improve the School environment and supports the School by providing refreshments at many of its functions.
We shall be looking for a new Treasurer to take over from Sarah Smith during the coming year, and if you think you may be able to undertake this office please let either Sarah or me know and we will give you more information.

We very much hope to see you on the night but if you are unable to attend and would like to register as a helper please indicate this on the reply slip by providing your contact details.
QUIZ NIGHT - Saturday 16th October 2010
The Parents & Friends Association is holding a Quiz Evening on Saturday 16th October 2010 from 7.30 p.m. in the School Hall. This event is being organised by Elaine & Steve Coates.
Teams should be a maximum of eight players and there will be prizes for the winning team members. If you can only get 2 or 4 players don’t worry we can pair you up on the night with others in a similar position to make a full team.
There will be no licensing arrangements for the evening but you will be able to bring your own drinks, glasses, nibbles and good-natured rivalry!
This event is suitable for accompanied secondary school age children.
The price of the tickets will be £4.00 per head and this will be payable on the night. To book your seats or for further information call Steve or Elaine Coates via the school office.
