Drama

For the last two years, the school have planned, staged and performed two very different musicals.
We always perform a matinee for local elderly residents, and follow this with three fun filled evening performances from Thursday to Saturday in March.
We started in 2007/08 with the Dickens classic ‘Oliver!’ which was a great success. It saw a Year 7 student, Chloe in the lead role supported by Year 11s Sophie as the Artful Dodger, Molly as Nancy and Grace as Bill Sykes. Verity in Year 13 did a great job as Fagin keeping the gang of thieves in line!

Last academic year saw the Yellow Brick Road and the Emerald City brought to Wilmington with our production of ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ This was a fantastical production with Charlotte Coe playing Dorothy and supported by Lydia Smith as the Scarecrow, Molly Taylor as the Lion and Alison Roddy as the Tinman. We had back flipping Jitterbugs and colourful sets and costumes. The Munchkins were particularly cheerful and the Ozians put on a wonderful show.
It was another team effort:

This year, we are looking forward to a production of ‘Annie.’ Rehearsals are under way and we are guaranteed another success. See you in March 2010!
